This time-honoured tradition is cherished not only by the residents and staff at Elmwood Residence but also by the families of those with disabilities and the Kinsmen Volunteers.
More Than Just Shopping
This event isn’t just about shopping for gifts, it’s a chance to connect with our disabled community and to enjoy a night of music, shopping, snacks and more. Using proceeds that donated through our yearly fundraising events, Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon has been hosting and volunteering for this event for over 50 years. Shopping venues have included Eaton’s, The Bay, and now Market Mall. The event has been open to the Elmwood Residences and other special needs care homes in Saskatoon.

Holiday Event Details
The Event Starts from the Heart
Before the event, Kinsmen volunteers go out and buy a gift for each one of the Elmwood Residents in attendance. Gifts are then wrapped and given to Santa to hand out during the after shopping festivities.
Lets Shop
Over 50 Kinsmen volunteers pair up with a resident and help them get around the mall to purchase holiday gifts they have on their shopping list!
Live Entertainment
After shopping, residents and their families, staff, and Kinsmen volunteers gather together in a private area provided by the Market Mall. This room is decked out in holiday spirit and a live band plays music. Clowns and balloon artists entertain while guests enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, and snacks.
A Visit from Santa
What holiday party would be complete without a visit from Santa? To end off the night each of the residents gets to visit Santa and he gives them a personalized gift!
